The online portion of the Master's in Coaching Education involves more than just e-mail. You will collaborate online with your team members and faculty using the Ohio University Without Boundaries (OUWB) intranet, a collection of Web-based databases that provide an asynchronous learning environment that allows you to complete your coursework at a time that is convenient to your schedule. Technology will supplement and enrich personal contacts, not replace them.

You will also participate in interactive, multimedia learning modules that will help you develop a deep understanding of the content and help you apply that content in the work setting.

You must have daily access to a computer in order to participate in the Masters in Coaching Education Program. It is recommended that you have your own personal computer or a computer to which you have unlimited access.

During the residencies, each student will be assigned a laptop computer and provided with access to a printer. All computers will be connected to the OUWB wireless network.

Minimum computer requirements

In order to work effectively in this program, you will need a computer that has access to the Internet, a reasonably modern Web browser, and Microsoft Office. Here are the minimum requirements:

• Web browser version: Internet Explorer 7.0 (or higher) or Firefox 2.0 (or higher)
• Screen resolution: 1024 by 768 pixels
• Color depth: 16-bit color (256 colors)
• Microsoft Office: Microsoft Office 97 (or greater) for a PC or Microsoft Office 98 (or greater) for a Mac
• Additional software: Adobe Acrobat Reader
• Internet connection: Modem-based Internet Service Provider with 28.8 or 56KB modem

Recommended computer requirements

• Web browser version: The most recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or
• Firefox with all updates applied
• Screen resolution: 1280 by 800 pixels (or as much resolution as your eyes can tolerate!)
• Color depth: 32-bit color (millions of color)
• Microsoft Office: Microsoft Office 2000 (or greater) for a PC or Microsoft Office 2002 (or greater) for a Mac
• Additional software: Adobe Acrobat Reader, QuickTime plug-in
  Internet connection: Broadband Internet Service Provider (i.e. cable modem or DSL)
