Master's Program in Athletic Administration

Admissions Process

Class size is limited. Your application materials will be reviewed upon receipt. You will then be notified shortly regarding acceptance into the program. Applications must be received by March 31, 2010 for consideration.

Admissions Criteria

A prospective participant who wishes to obtain the Master of Science in Recreation and Sport Sciences with a concentration in athletic administration degree from Ohio University must meet the following admission standards:

  • Earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Overall undergraduate grade-point average (g.p.a.) of 2.70 on a 4.0 scale on last 90 quarter hours or last 60 semester hours.

  • Two to four years of interscholastic athletic administration, coaching, or related experience.

  • Three letters of recommendation, one of which must come from your immediate supervisor.

  • A two to four page essay discussing your career goals, noting how the master’s degree will help you achieve your career goals, and noting areas or competencies that you expect the program will help you strengthen or develop.

  • GRE and GMAT scores are not required but will be considered if they are submitted.

Application Process

The following materials must be received before your application can be considered for admission:

  1. Application questionnaire.

  2. Official transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended. To be considered official transcript must be sent directly from the institution to Ohio University Without Boundaries.

  3. Three letters of recommendation.

  4. Required essay.
