The Master's of Leadership in Educational Administration Program is
comprised of seven sequential
projects. Participants complete the project requirements
through: (1) attendance at the two one-week sessions in the summer
and two weekend sessions in the winter; (2) regular contribution to
online discussions; and (3)
successful completion of a final deliverable for each project.
Attendance is measured and required for both in-person and online
class activities. Attendance is mandatory at the in-person sessions.
Students
must provide evidence of their commitment to the program and attendance
at these sessions as a display of that commitment. Further, attendance
is measured by participation in online discussions and activities.
Plagiarism is the theft of intellectual property and grounds for dismissal
from the course. Any direct quote must appear in quotation marks and
be cited immediately afterward with page number and author. Any paraphrased
materials must be cited at the end of the sentence or paragraph. Refer
to the American Psychological Association Manual, 5th edition for further
clarification. Specific directions for offering credit to authors
and
references during the online discussions will be specified during the
first in-person session.
STUDENT COHORT
Our method of organizing students is the 'cohort'. A cohort is a group
of students who move through the program together. The cohort helps
to establish a built-in support system that is beneficial to all students
as a network of continual assistances during and after completion of
the program. Previous cohorts have maintained their relationships over
the years and found the support and encouragement from their colleagues
highly positive.
THE PROGRAM
Our method for organizing the programs content is the project. Students
complete projects to achieve the programs requirements.
Projects are translated into course number and credit hours solely
for administrative
purposes.
The list of required projects and their equivalent
course credits are as follows:
