To earn the BSN degree from Ohio University an individual must complete: (1) prerequisites, (2) BSN nursing courses, (3) Ohio University general education requirements, and (4) other Ohio University graduation requirements. Courses may be completed at Ohio University or may be transferred from other accredited colleges/universities. Courses from other colleges will be evaluated on an individual basis. If the course is determined to be equivalent to the relevant Ohio University course and its grade was a "C" or better it will be transferred and used to meet the designated requirement.

  9. Human growth and development (PSY 273)
  10. Fundamentals of Nursing (NURS 110, 111)
  11. Assessment in Nursing (NURS 120, 121)
  12. Pharmacology (NURS 130, 131, 132)
  13. Health Alternations (NURS 210, 211, 212)
  14. Mental Health Alterations (NURS 230)
  15. Maternal, Newborn, Women's Health Alterations (NURS 220)

General Education:

All RN to BSN students must complete the Ohio University general education requirements. Several of the Tier I and Tier II requirements are satisfied through the completion of the prerequisites to the BSN major. The Tier III requirement is met by the capstone course in the BSN major (NRSE 455). Students will be advised as to what other general education courses will need to be completed.

Ohio University Graduation Requirements

  1. Completion of a minimum of 192 credits with a 2.0 grade point average.
  2. Meet the residency requirements.
  3. No more than 8 credits in developmental, e.g. ENGL 150 or MATH 102, courses.
