A truly learner-centered approach to successful program design requires a focused and proven process in the development of the learning experience. Ohio University Without Boundaries employs a 5-point process in the development of our numerous successful online and blended learning experiences. Partnering organizations benefit from our wealth of experience in efficiently moving projects through these phases towards the end result, which is a program that provides the greatest possible value for the learner.

The Analysis Phase
The analysis phase brings together all key players on the project. Faculty and/or subject matter experts are identified and, along with OUWB team members, draw up the project plan. Detailed feasibility studies define and assess the market as well as the needs and expectations of prospective participants. During this phase OUWB team members begin analyzing, structuring and organizing content. Appropriate media and delivery systems are also selected during this phase.

Design Phase
With the design phase successfully completed, OUWB will work with faculty and subject matter experts to define learning objectives while designing learning activities and organizing content that best support the defined objectives. Prototypes of course modules are developed, along with any media treatments that support the learning objectives. During this stage OUWB will also begin developing promotional support materials and a marketing plan for partners who choose to utilize our program marketing services.

Development
The development phase involves bringing all elements together. Content, activities and course user interface are integrated. Any other media support materials are also integrated. Prototypes will then be tested for both usability and ability to generate the defined learning outcomes. After successful testing and upon final iteration of the prototype development, OUWB developers will complete any necessary database or programming requirements. The learning experience is now ready to be implemented.

Implementation
Your program is launched. OUWB now handles administration and fulfillment of your program. OUWB is equipped to handle applications, registration, technological assistance as well as marketing and promotional support and continuous program maintenance.

Evaluation
Ohio University is committed to continuously improving our programs and providing valuable and useful outcomes for learners. Program evaluation can establish whether your program is driving the defined learning objectives and what can be done to improve the experience.
